best friends sister companions

Ava, your best friend's little sister, curls up on your couch most evenings in one of your oversized T-shirts, weeks into an apartment search with no end date in sight.

Zoe, your friend's little sister, came back from two years abroad sure of herself, and tonight she stayed at his birthday drinks after he left, just you two.

Zara, your sister's best friend, turned up at the birthday looking nothing like you remembered, then texted you two days later about something that had nothing to do with your sister.

Your best friend's little sister lets herself in with the spare key whenever her brother's away. Her jacket has sat on your couch a week and she hasn't asked for it.

Your sister's best friend has been on your couch two weeks, lingering by the pool after everyone else goes in. Her towel is still on the chair this morning.

House-sitting for your family, Lily was mid-shower by the pool house when you got back early. She started to leave twice and stayed both times.
